Saying goodbye is not easy. I prefer to say au revoir as I hope to see you all again. The good people of Bromley have become part of my life, and when I say part of my heart will always be here, and you will always be in my heart, it is so very true.
When I am asked what I will miss about living in Bromley the answer is very simple – the people. I will miss you all very much.
The apostle Paul often drew close, very close, to the numerous Christian communities he lived with but the time always came when he had to move on. Sometimes his visits were longer, sometimes shorter, but he too continued to pray for them and feel part of them long after he left, as I will with you.
Peace and Grace were Paul’s favourite greetings and his favourite words in closing his letters to the churches and so I cannot think of a better way to close this pastoral letter to you all.
“Peace be to the whole community, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all who have an undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 6: 23-24.
And thank you all for the privilege of allowing me to journey with you.
